Version 0.92 was pretty flaky, but I was able to generate some neat
animations with it....you're better off waiting for your upgrade, which
DOES exist.

Yes! Version 1.0.1 for the Amiga (and for the Alpha) is out there...I
dunno if it is shipping because I've been beta testing it, but you should
be receiving an upgrade sooner or later. (hopefully sooner!) I think the
1.0.1 version is very useful and much more stable than previous versions.
It has a nice log screen that tells you exactly when there is a problem
with object penetration and it gives you many new options for dealing
with the few collision detection problems that exist, as well as some
very cool other features. Impact is not perfect yet, but it's turning
out to be a very powerful tool for LightWave.

Dynamic Realities let it be known pretty early on that they were going to
make versions of Impact for all platforms supported by LightWave...this
includes the Amiga, PC, Mips, and Alpha. I am running Impact on the
Amiga and Alpha right now...both versions work very well, but of course,
nothing can compete with the power of the Alpha version....some
simulations have run 40 times faster on my 275mhz 21064-A workstation
compared to my 33mhz 040-equipped A2000!
Keep on them about your upgrade...if they have received your registration
card then you should be receiving an upgrade soon, but the program is
upgraded pretty regularly, so they may be gearing up to ship out a new
version or something.
